Trans* Human Rights 101: Human Rights Complaints for Employment, Housing, and Service Discrimination in Alberta

The TransLab is pleased to announce an upcoming free workshop where Albertan human rights lawyers will demystify the basics of trans* human rights in Alberta. Participants will be taken through a practical step-by-step guide, learning about reasons to file, what to expect, resources needed, and potential emotional impacts. The audience will have opportunity to ask questions that address their specific concerns. This workshop is primarily for trans* people in Alberta, but services providers, lawyers, and allied community members are invited and should benefit from the conversation.

The GenderFULL Meditation Project at Athabasca University

The GenderFULL Meditation Project is an eight-week summer meditation and discussion group at Athabasca University, designed for Two-Spirit, transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming individuals to ground themselves in community and have conversations about trans* existence. These sessions will begin with a 15- to 20-minute guided meditation or grounding practice, followed by informal discussions centred on a weekly theme. No experience with meditation is necessary to participate.
